1] Data Recovery &
File Recovery
File Recovery
The process of
recovering deleted or damaged files from a disk. In many operating
systems, a deleted file still exists on disk until the space it
occupies is overwritten with something else. A file can be deleted
accidentally, or can become inaccessible when part of the file's
control information is lost. There are many utility packages that
offer file recovery programs (i.e., Norton Utilities for Symantec,
PC Tools from Central Point Software). I have marketed LC Technology
range of File Recovery Solutions.
I have marketed
FILE RECOVERY Products which can scan and find lost partitions, boot
sectors and other file system components. The FILE RECOVERY Products
can detect drives even if they are not visible in explorer. The full
directory structure of the drive is displayed (Even on NTFS Drives
where it is recoverable) and the built in search feature makes
finding files much easier. The Recovery Wizard allows even novice
users to successfully recover lost data.
FILE RECOVERY
products have usually the following features.
- Lost or Deleted
Partitions
- Accidental or Malicious Formats
- Installations Gone Wrong
- Virus Attacks- Deletions
- Local or over a network
- Virtually Any Logical Disk Disaster
-Will support RAID as well!
2] Smart Utilities :
Full-featured
failure-prediction software for hard drives. It uses S.M.A.R.T.
technology to alert about impending data loss situations. These are
mainly a Hard Disk failure prediction Software.
I have a major focus in
the OEM Market globally for the SMART Utility Solutions.
I have marketed SMART
Utilities like IntelliSMART , ActiveSMART and clinched major deals
and Contracts from major OEMs in India and the Asia Pacific Market.
Following are the details of SMART Software features and regarding
the SMART technology.
Main features:
· Hard drive diagnostic using SMART
· Hard drive health status monitor
· Detailed SMART reports
· Flexible control over alert levels
· Drive overheating monitor
· Multiple alerting options
What is S.M.A.R.T.
technology for hard drives?
S.M.A.R.T.
(Self-Monitoring, Analysis and Reporting Technology) is implemented
into all of the modern hard disks. A special program inside the disk
constantly keeps tracking the condition of a range of the vital
parameters: driver, disk heads, surface state, electronics, etc. At
the present time, S.M.A.R.T. technology is able to predict up to 70%
of all hard disk problems! However, to use this information, you
firstly have to retrieve it from the disk and analyze it. This is
one of the Active SMART program's tasks.
S.M.A.R.T. Technology
S.M.A.R.T. stands for
Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology. S.M.A.R.T.
technology was developed by a number of major hard disk drive
manufacturers in a concerted effort to increase the reliability of
drives. It is a technology that enables the PC to predict the future
failure of hard disk drives. S.M.A.R.T. technology has become an
industry standard for hard drive manufacturers. Through the
S.M.A.R.T. system, modern hard disk drives incorporate a suite of
advanced diagnostics that monitor the internal operations of a drive
and provide an early warning for many types of potential problems.
When a potential problem is detected, the drive can be repaired or
replaced before any data is lost or damaged. The S.M.A.R.T. system
monitors the drive for anything that might seem out of the ordinary,
documents it, and analyzes the data. If it sees something that
indicates a problem, it is capable of notifying the user (or system
administrator). S.M.A.R.T. monitors disk performance, faulty
sectors, recalibration, CRC errors, drive spin-up time, drive heads,
distance between the heads and the disk platters, drive temperature,
and characteristics of the media, motor and servomechanisms. The
errors the system can detect can be predicted by a number of
methods. Currently the SMART system can detect about 70% of all hard
drive errors. Here's an example: motor and/or bearing failure can be
predicted by an increase in the drive spin-up time and the number of
retries it takes to get the drive spinning at full speed. Or, if the
drive notes that error correction is being needed excessively, it
can attribute this to a broken drive head or surface contamination,
and it will create an alert before the problem gets worse. Armed
with a prediction of failure, the user or system administrator can
make a backup copy of key data, replace a suspect device prior to
data loss, and avoid undesired downtime.
Disk monitor
What is a disk monitor?
It is special software that monitors the health status of the hard
drive. Its main purpose is to prevent and predict drive failure and
save the data that is stored in the hard drive. Active SMART is one
of the most popular disk monitors. It works in the background while
Windows is running, and it constantly checks the health of your hard
drive(s) by monitoring their S.M.A.R.T. status (S.M.A.R.T. stands
for Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology). S.M.A.R.T.
technology was developed by a number of major hard disk drive
manufacturers in a concerted effort to increase the reliability of
drives. It is a technology that enables the PC to reliably predict
approaching failure of hard disk drives. S.M.A.R.T. technology has
become an industry standard for hard drive manufacturers. You can
find more about S.M.A.R.T. here. Active SMART also checks drive
temperature and lets you prevent overheating; additionally, it
traces the drive's internal data and predicts the potential drive
failure date. Currently the SMART system can detect about 70% of all
the hard drive errors. When Active SMART detects a potential
problem, the drive can be repaired or replaced before any data is
lost or damaged.
3] Security and
Encryption Products
What is Encryption and
Cryptography?
A process associated
with scrambling plaintext (ordinary text, or cleartext) into
ciphertext (a process called encryption), then back again (known as
decryption). Cryptography concerns itself with four objectives: 1)
Confidentiality (the information cannot be understood by anyone for
whom it was unintended) 2) Integrity (the information cannot be
altered in storage or transit between sender and intended receiver
without the alteration being detected) 3) Non-repudiation (the
creator/sender of the information cannot deny at a later stage his
or her intentions in the creation or transmission of the
information) 4) Authentication (the sender and receiver can confirm
each other’s identity and the origin/destination of the information)
Procedures and protocols that meet some or all of the above criteria
are known as cryptosystems.
Security Solutions and Encryption
prevents any non-authorized party from reading or changing data. The
level of protection provided by encryption is determined by an
encryption algorithm. In a brute-force attack, the strength is
measured by the number of possible keys and the key size. For
example, a Triple-Data Encryption Standard system (3 DES) uses
112-bit or 168-bit keys and, based on currently available processing
power, is virtually immune to brute-force attacks. Business to
Business VPNs (Extranets) share sensitive data with multiple
organizations, so demand the highest level of security. This
requires public key encryption and/or secure key exchange, both of
which are designed to eliminate the risk of the key becoming known
to an unauthorized party.
There are two kinds
of cryptosystems:
Symmetric:
Symmetric Cryptosystems use the same key (the secret key) to encrypt
and decrypt a message, and asymmetric cryptosystems use one key (the
public key) to encrypt a message and a different key (the private
key) to decrypt it.
Asymmetric:
Assymetric cryptosystems are also called public key cryptosystems.

Customer Relationship
Management - The methodologies, software, and Internet capabilities
that help a company manage customer relationships in an efficient
and organized manner.
Customer Relationship
Management is a set of methodologies, software, and usually Internet
capabilities that help an enterprise manage customer relationships
in an organized way. It includes all business processes in sales,
marketing, and service that touch the customer. For example, an
enterprise might build a database about its customers that describes
relationships in sufficient detail so that management, salespeople,
people providing service, and even the customer can access
information, match customer needs with product plans and offerings,
remind customers of service requirements, know what other products a
customer has purchased, and so on. In contrast to customer care,
Customer Relationship Management tends to be used to deal more
specifically with the integration of all business functions with
each other.
A vast way of approach
to customers in an attempt to realize their living style in every
field of life and eventually to influence them to change their life
style towards their profitable direction through the company
initiating ceaseless communication of indirect, implicative and
inspiring suggestion so that the company may attract new customers
and bind existing customers steady with the company.
Customer relationship
management: the way in which a company manages interactions with its
customers. A successful CRM solution depends on the ability to
interact with customers through any channel they choose, as well as
a way to track and maintain real-time records of customer
interactions so a complete view of the customer can be established.
Effective CRM delivers the personalized, informed service on-demand
that customers expect. An informed response comes from a system that
provides a complete profile of the customer, including all past and
ongoing interactions, regardless of the medium.
